1. Stat Help Button

  1.  Click on "Ped’s Acute Stroke MB button". 
  2.  Complete the boxes. The call back number is now automatically programmed to call back to 415-353-1611 once “Activate” is clicked. Enter the following into Message: 

“ PEDS ACUTE STROKE”  – NAME, MRN, Location , Pls call Access to be bridged with team for consult -  Your Name, RN

2. Activate - RRT if patient is inpatient at BCH SF or a boarder in the ED. 

(The ED will relay that the patient is an admitted boarder if applicable.)

At the end of the call UCSF Providers should review the following:

Hyperacute stroke candidate (IV-TPA or endovasular treatment)? If Yes:

  1. Is imaging plan for MRI/MRA or ST/CTA/CTP?
  2. PICU calls CT and/or MRI tech to clear scanner
  3. Neuro team will call Neuro Radiology fellow - Business Hrs: 415-514-6522, Wkn/Holidays - 415-443-1465

Back-up until 2200 and Wkn/Holidays: Neuro Rad Reading Rm - 31709. All Neuro Rad staff are listed in AMION.

  1. If IV-TPA candidate - PICU makes first call to pharmacist
  2. For patient at OSH is transport plan finalized?
