AED Maintenance

There are 7 AEDs located at Mission Bay that need to be checked monthly. All except one is located on the first floor.

The rotating schedule of Supervisor check due dates are on Box, found here. Please update this form with completed dates after the checks are done.

AED Locations:

  1. Gateway Lobby Near Radiation Oncology
  2. Gateway Hallway
  3. Adult Lobby
  4. Children’s Hospital Lobby
  5. Cafeteria-Dining Room
  6. Ronald MacDonald House
  7. Second Floor near Clinical Lab

 

The following items need to be checked on every AED.

  1. Wall cabinet Alarm is on (Use AED key to disable alarm when checking other items on AED checklist. REMEMBER to turn alarm back on when done)
  2. Ready Light shows blinking green light
  3. Pads connected to connector port
  4. Infant/Child key
  5. Spare Pads are present
  6. Both sets of pads are within expiration date
  7. Spare battery within “Install Before” date
  8. Installed battery within expiration date
  9. External case/connecter socket clean with no signs of damage
  10. Extra Supply Pouch attached, supplies intact (gloves, drape, trauma shears, CPR pocket mask, disposable razor)

 

All AEDs are the same with the exception of the one in the Gateway Hallway. 2 – 9V batteries operate the wall cabinet alarm. It is located in the interior the top part of the cabinet. If alarm does not go off when cabinet is open, please change the battery.

Once in the Smartsheet application, Click AED Checklist Sheet from the menu on the right.

When all items on the list are checked, update the appropriate fields.

  1. Last condition (drop down- Green, Yellow or Red)
  2. Completed on
  3. Completed by
  4. Notes

Save all changes and close application after complete
